From November 19 to 30, 2024, London, Luxembourg, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, and Vienna will welcome Venezuelan maestro Rafael Payare for a grand celebration! The new Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra will embark on a European tour to celebrate the orchestra’s 90th anniversary, founded exactly on November 16, 1934. Payare, who follows in the footsteps of renowned conductors such as Igor Markevitch, Zubin Mehta (appointed at just 24), Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, Charles Dutoit, or Kent Nagano, will be joined on this tour by another great artist, pianist Daniil Trifonov. Together, they will perform a classical and romantic repertoire featuring works by Beethoven, Schumann, Berlioz, and Richard Strauss.
