On 29 December 2021, at the end of the last performance of Verdi’s Macbeth, which opened the new season at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Patrizia Cappuccilli, the daughter of the great baritone, presented Luca Salsi with the Cappuccili Prize in the presence of the Superintendent Dominique Meyer and the Artistic Director of La Scala, Riccardo Chailly. This award recognises artists of the past and present who represent the art of Italian singing in the world, as Piero Cappuccilli did in his time.
