]]> Until the end of 2022, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels will become the temple of the Baroque with the announcement of a dozen concerts of early music where we will be able to meet some big names such as Marc Minkowski and his Musiciens du Louvre who are imagining a new symphony by Rameau (on 5 October 2022).

The great harpsichordist Justin Taylor brings together Domenico Scarlatti’s sonatas with György Ligeti’s Continuum on 12 October. The sopranos Dorothee Mields and Hana Blažíková pay tribute to Barbara Strozzi, the virtuosissima singer (18 October).

On the mezzo side, Magdalena Kožená offers a Monteverdi, Berio and Ivanovic programme with La Cetra and Andrea Marcon (14 December). Václav Luks and the Collegium 1704 focus on Handel and Zelenka (17 November), while Les Arts Florissants conducted by Paul Agnew visit the fifth book of madrigals by Monteverdi (24/11).

]]> As the Czech Republic takes over the presidency of the European Union for six months in July 2022, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels is taking advantage of this to highlight Czech artists and composers in its 2022-2023 season.

Nine musical events will be held during which Jan Kučera and the Prague Philharmonia, the Pavel Haas Quartet and the Collegium 1704 will be performed, as well as Magdalena Kožená, Hana Blažíková, Václav Luks, Lukáš Vondráček and the Czech Philharmonic (with Semyon Bychkov and Gautier Capuçon).

Pianist Leif Ove Andsnes will perform Janáček and Dvořák, while Magdalena Kožená will perform Arianna has a Problem, based on Monteverdi’s Lamento d’Arianna, which the Czech composer Marko Ivanović dedicated to his compatriot.

]]> An excellent choice at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, with a beautiful serie of concerts starring the young and extremely talented Belgian tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen. On November 4 at the Protestant Chapel, Reinoud Van Mechelen performs a Lieder recital with works by Schumann and Liszt (as Liszt’s Tre Sonetti di Petrarca).

At the Beaux-Arts with his ensemble A Nocte Temporis, he performs a French Christmas Concert on Charpentier’s music on December 18 and on February 14 2019, at the Palais des Académies, a program named Dubhlinn Gardens. On February 8, 2019, with Vox Luminis, he performs works by the young Bach (at the Beaux-Arts).

And finally, on May 8, 2019, he performs as Renaud in the concert version of Lully’s Armide with The Spiritual Concert conducted by Hervé Niquet and starring Véronique Gens as Armida.
