The board of directors of the Teatro alla Scala, the temple of opera in Milan, has just announced news that could shake the lyrical planet. The traditional season-opening performance on December 7th will not be able to take place.

As the sanitary conditions to host the new production of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor are not ensured, Dominique Meyer, the new artistic director of the famous institution, has been asked to find an alternative event, without an audience!
