On 5 January, the great pianist Maurizio Pollini celebrated his 80th birthday. With few opportunities to see him on stage, aficionados will be scrambling for the last available seats in Rome or Milan. On 28 March, Pollini will give his 150th concert at the Teatro alla Scala.
