Osterfestspiele : the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden extend their collaboration

While the 2020 edition has been canceled, the Berliner Philharmoniker with his brilliant Music Director Kirill Petrenko and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden just announced the extention of their collaboration around the prestigious Osterfestspiele (the Easter Festival) beyond 2022.

While the 2021 and 2022 editions will focus on the Russian repertoire, Richard Strauss will be at the heart of the program in 2023 and 2024. With the concerts, the staged operas will be, Tchaikovsky’s Mazeppa (directed by Dimitri Tcherniakov) in 2021 and Tchaikovsky’s The Queen of spades in 2022. In 2023, Richard Strauss’ Die Frau ohne Schatten will be performed and in 2024, another title by Richard Strauss to be announced.
