In Sicily, Rossini’s masterpiece Guillaume Tell opens the 2018 opera season of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo from 23 to 31 January 2018, in Damiano Michieletto’s production after being staged in June 2015 at the Royal Opera House in London.

A superb voice to sing Bach, baritone Thomas E. Bauer performs with Das Neue Orchester conducted by Christoph Spering at Brussel’s Palais des Beaux-Arts on 13 January 2018 in an all-Bach programme featuring cantate BWV 56 and marvellous cantata BWV 82 “Ich habe genug”.

Conductor Charles Dutoit is to conduct the New York Philharmonic on January 17–20, 2018 in an all-Ravel program featuring the famous Boléro, for sure and also the Piano Concerto for the Left Hand starring pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
