The news came out this week: against all expectations, the 2020 edition of the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro will take place from August 8 to 20, 2020 but in a lighter version.

Only La cambiale di matrimonio maintained will be given at the Teatro Rossini on August 8, 11, 13, 17 and 20. The opera directed by Dmitry Korchak who will make his debut as a conductor will be paired with Cantata Giovanna d’Arco sung by Marianna Pizzolato. The Festival will not depart from tradition and will screen the final performance in Piazza del Popolo.

It will also host six recitals with orchestra highlighting the most acclaimed Rossinian singers of the moment such as Olga Peretyatko, Jessica Pratt, Juan Diego Flórez or Karine Deshayes.
