]]> The fine production of Handel’s Saul by the great director Barrie Kosky is on at the Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen from 20 March to 5 April 2024, with Handelian bass-baritone Christopher Purves in the title role. For the occasion, the Royal Danish Opera will be joined in the pit by Concerto Copenhagen and its conductor Lars Ulrik Mortensen. Following performances of Giulio Cesare in Egitto in 2005, this historically informed ensemble has been invited to take part in the Danish institution’s Baroque productions on numerous occasions, with great success.
