]]> After having cancelled his appearance at the Chorégies d’Orange last summer, at the Arena of Verona and after his defection in La Gioconda at La Scala in Milan, the Italian tenor Fabio Sartori, unavailable, will not be on the stage of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome where he was supposed to perform as Radames either. Verdi’s Aida will be performed from 31 January to 12 February 2023 with Gregory Kunde replacing him.

]]> The winners of the 76th Geneva International Music Competition were announced at the end of the Piano Final (with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Maržena Diakun) which took place at the Victoria Hall on Thursday 3 November. The first prize was awarded to a remarkable 17-year-old Canadian pianist, Kevin Chen, while Sergey Belyavsky (28 years old, representing Russia), also excellent, won the second prize. Kaoruko Igarashi (28, Japan) and Zijian Wei (24, China) tied for third prize.
