]]> María de Buenos Aires, Ástor Piazzolla‘s tango opera combining song, theatre and dance, is on at the Grand Théâtre de Genève from 27 October to 5 November 2023, directed by Ticino-born Daniele Finzi Pasca. Soprano Raquel Camarinha performs as Maria opposite Inés Cuello, a great tango voice, in the male role of Payador. The musical director is Argentinian conductor Facundo Agudín, with renowned bandoneonist Marcelo Nisinman in the orchestra.
