]]> The brilliant choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui has added another string to his bow by also directing opera. His arrival at the helm of the Grand Théâtre de Genève ballet in 2022 naturally led him to propose a new production in which all the performing arts will be brought together. From 21 February to 2 March 2024, the Grand Théâtre de Genève will be bringing along its choir and the dancers from its Ballet, joined by those from Eastman (Cherkaoui’s company) and members of the Orchestre de Chambre de Genève and the Cappella Mediterranea ensemble for six performances of Mozart’s Idomeneo (Idomeneo, King of Crete). Brilliant Leonardo García Alarcón conducts when a prestigious cast includes Stanislas de Barbeyrac, Lea Desandre, Federica Lombardi and Giulia Semenzato.
