]]> An exciting event is brewing at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, which will host Benjamin Bernheim’s first Parisian Werther. Widely considered one of today’s greatest French tenors, he will perform from March 22 to April 6, 2025, in a production directed by Christof Loy.

This staging also marks a milestone for another beloved artist, well-known to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées audience and Parisians alike. Marina Viotti, who captivated the public during the Olympic Games opening ceremony by singing a hard rock version of a Carmen aria while perched on the Fluctuat nec mergitur ship in front of the beheaded of the Conciergerie, is back. She has just won a Grammy Award for “Best Metal Performance” alongside the band Gojira.

The stunning Swiss mezzo-soprano, who debuted her first Carmen at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, will once again honor Paris by taking on another iconic role: Charlotte.

]]> After the disheartening revelations that naturally led to the withdrawal of their principal leader, the brilliant ensemble Les Siècles, in residence at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées since 2022, is bouncing back by announcing the names of seven replacements. Jakob Lehmann, Ustina Dubitsky, Franck Ollu, Pierre Bleuse, and Simon Proust will conduct the various scheduled events and prestigious concerts (such as the one celebrating the centenary of Pierre Boulez, where Sarah Aristidou will replace Sabine Devieilhe, who is obliged to cancel her appearance). As for the two major operatic events of the season, they will be respectively rescued by Karina Canellakis (for the much-anticipated revival of Dialogues des Carmélites, from December 4 to 12, 2024) and by Marc Leroy-Calatayud (Werther, from March 22 to April 6, 2025, with the French debut of Benjamin Bernheim).
