Women in the spotlight in June

Since the beginning of the season, the Palazzetto Bru Zane, a great rediscoverer of scores (which is releasing a boxed set of 8CDs in March 2023 and a book on Augusta Holmès), has been devoting a series of concerts to 19th century French women composers: Louise Farrenc, Rita Strohl, Clémence de Grandval, Nadia and Lili Boulanger, Cécile Chaminade, Charlotte Sohy, Augusta Holmès, Mel Bonis, Sophie Gail, Marie Jaëll, Henriette Renié,…. After a festival to be held in Venice from 1 April to 17 June 2023, the highlights are expected in Paris where, as part of the Palazzetto Bru Zane’s Parisian festival, three concerts will be held, including Louise Bertin’s opera Fausto on 20 June and a symphonic concert on 23 June at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
