It was to be one of the highlights of the season, the new production of Rameau’s Hippolyte et Aricie by Jeanne Candel was expected at the Opéra Comique from November 11th.

All is not lost because, thanks to everyone’s efforts, opera lovers will have the chance to attend the unique livestream performance on ARTE Concert on Saturday 14 November at 8 pm.

Rameau’s masterpiece is performed by the brilliant Stéphane Degout, Reinoud van Mechelen, Elsa Benoit, Sylvie Brunet-Grupposo in the lead roles, but also by such renowned performers as Lea Desandre and Nahuel di Pierro or Edwin Fardini, the recent revelation of the Concours Voix des Outre-mer.
