Robert Carsen‘s production made a big impression in 1999. Handel’s Alcina returns to the Opéra national de Paris from 25 November to 30 December 2021, conducted by Thomas Hengelbrock (and Iñacki Encina Oyón on 26 and 28 December). The sumptuous cast of 1999 (Renée Fleming, Susan Graham, Natalie Dessay) is now composed with no less exceptional artists. Sabine Devieilhe and Gaëlle Arquez perform the respective roles of Morgana and Ruggiero for the very first time, while Jeanine De Bique (the revelation of Freischütz at the Berlin Konzerthaus) makes her debut at the Opéra national de Paris.
