A masterpiece of Italian opera that is rather rare on European Opera stages, Giordano’s Andrea Chénier will open the 2022 season of the Greek National Opera, from 20 January to 13 February 2022 (conducted by Philippe Auguin with alternating Marcelo Puente and Marcelo Álvarez, Cellia Costea and Eva-Maria Westbroek, Dimitri Platanias and Elchin Azizov…) before returning in June 2022 to the Magyar Állami Operaház in Budapest and the Deutsche Oper Berlin (with Martin Muehle and the German soprano of Greek origin Anja Harteros).
