In November at Brussels’ Palais des Beaux-Arts it’s Christmas before Christmas. Superstars are visiting like conductor Valery Gergiev (on 18) to perform Stravinsky and Tchaïkovsky. Two days later, (on 20), La Bartoli, the fantastic Cecila Bartoli performs aria by her dear Vivaldi. The day after, great pianist Arcadi Volodos performs Schubert, Rachmaninov and Scriabin. And last, Philippe Jordan conducts the Wiener Symphoniker to perform Dvorák’s Symphony from the New World. So many gifts!
