Audition for the project Opera (e)Studio de l’Ópera de Tenerife!

Auditorio de Tenerife announced the dates for the auditions of the Opera (e)Studio project of the Ópera de Tenerife. The international auditions will take place from 30 November to 18 December in four cities in Italy and Spain: Parma, Palermo, Madrid and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The chosen singers will take part in the eighth edition of Opera (e)Studio, the academy for young artists directed by Giulio Zappa. On this occasion, artists will perform “Il matrimonio segreto” de Cimarosa, a co-production with the Teatro Regio di Parma and the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, on 18, 19, 20 and 21 March 2021. In addition to Zappa, the internationally renowned project will feature musical direction by Davide Levi, stage direction by Roberto Catalano, costume design by Ilaria Ariemme and lighting by Fiammetta Baldiserri.

The auditions were to be carried out between 11 and 19 May 2020 but the health crisis forced their postponement. Therefore, the new dates for the auditions, unless the health situation prevents it again, will be as follows:

● Parma: 30 November and 1 December 2020
● Palermo: 03 December 2020
● Madrid: 15 and 16 December 2020
● Tenerife: 18 December 2020

The deadline for registration is 10 November 2020 at 6 pm (Canary Islands time). All information about the auditions and how to register can be found on www.operaestudio.eu.
The rules are available in Spanish, Italian and English.  All those who have registered so far will receive the information by e-mail individually but if you have any specific queries you can write to [email protected].

This programme for young artists aims to provide highly specialised training in the international opera scene, serving as a showcase and springboard for many of them. In the past editions, singers from more than 24 different nationalities have participated in auditions and selections. Ópera (e)Studio also makes the production work of the Auditorio de Tenerife visible, obtaining recognition during 2019 and 2020 from the European Commission’s Creative Europe programme, which reflects development, sustainability, job creation and training.
