Carlo Vistoli, new hero in Paris

As the 2023-2024 season of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris has just been unveiled, the Italian countertenor Carlo Vistoli seems to be taking the lion’s share of the spotlight by interpreting three emblematic roles of the great Baroque repertoire. In May 2023, he will be Orlando in Antonio Vivaldi’s Orlando furioso (with Jean-Christophe Spinosi conducting the Ensemble Matheus). He will then perform as Giulio Cesare in concert with Cecilia Bartoli‘s Cleopatra (October 2023) before taking on the role of Rinaldo (February 2024), the two great Handel heroes. On stage, he will be seen at the Rome Opera in Giulio Cesare but as Tolomeo directed by Damiano Michieletto (with Raffaele Pe, another Italian countertenor this time as Giulio Cesare).
