Who would believe it? Chopin isn’t dead, as he’s still composing!
An incredible discovery was just made in New York in the vault room of the Morgan Library & Museum. The New York Times reports that an unpublished waltz score has been lying there, undisturbed, for nearly 200 years.
Initially skeptical, curator Robinson McClellan consulted a Chopin specialist from the University of Pennsylvania, who confirmed, after examining the handwriting, ink, and paper, that it was indeed a waltz composed by Chopin between 1830 and 1835. Music from beyond the grave—just in time for Halloween!
