The Richard-Strauss-Tage (Richard Strauss Days Festival) will be held in Dresden from 2 to 16 April 2023, in the hall where many of his creations were performed, the Semperoper. Concerts and operas are on the programme, but Christian Thielemann, the Staatskapelle’s principal conductor, will not be attending for health reasons. Der Rosenkavalier is now conducted by Cornelius Meister and Arabella by David Afkham. The concerts on 15 and 16 April with the great soprano Diana Damrau are conducted by Tugan Sokhiev.
