Easter changes in Baden-Baden

The Berliner Philharmoniker, which is in residence in Baden-Baden every season for the famous Osterfestspiele, has announced some changes in the programme for the tenth edition, which will be held from 1 to 10 April 2023.

Richard Strauss’s opera Die Frau ohne Schatten, which is at the heart of the season, requires a large number of rehearsals, which means that Kirill Petrenko will not be able to perform on Monday, April 3.

The conductor of Arnold Schönberg’s Orchesterstücke op. 16 and Gustav Mahler’s Fifth Symphony will be his prestigious colleague Daniel Harding. Kirill Petrenko will conduct the symphony concerts on 7 and 10 April as scheduled, with Diana Damrau performing Strauss’ “Vier letzte Lieder”.
