From 20 March to 3 April 2022, the Deutsche Oper Berlin is perfroming a rare yet well-known Verdi opera. Les Vêpres Siciliennes was the first commission for Verdi by the Paris Opera, using a libretto by the leading author of the time, Eugène Scribe. After the success of Meyerbeer’s Prophète, another Grand Opéra Français, the Deutsche Oper Berlin is renewing its confidence in the director Olivier Py, whom it has called upon to direct this new Berlin event.
