The Atrides did not only inspire operas by Gluck or Richard Strauss. Handel composed an Orestes in 1734 which will be performed thanks to Maxim Emelyanychev at the head of Il Pomo d’Oro.

Franco Fagioli as the tormented hero and also Francesca Aspromonte, Krystian Adam or Julia Lezhneva perform a concert version in Paris (Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, November 13, 2020), Vienna (Theater an der Wien, November 15, 2020 ), Essen or Toulouse (Halle aux Grains, November 19, 2020).
