Grand pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy announced his retirement from public performances

At 82, grand pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy announced his retirement from public performances. Vladimir Ashkenazy was scheduled to conduct the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in May 2020.

The orchestra just announced the name of the new conductors. Carlos Miguel Prieto and Nicholas Carter conducts the concerts originally scheduled from 21 to 30 may, as part of the Northern Lights Festival.
