The city of Montpellier will once again make bodies vibrate from 20 June to 4 July 2023 by inviting dancers, choreographers, companies, panels, dance lessons…
For its 43rd edition, the Montpellier Danse festival is questioning the place of memory in contemporary dance. “This edition should have echoed the noise and fury of the world… perhaps it should have been silent in the face of this noise, this chaos… but the show must go on…” says its director, Jean-Paul Montanari. Pina Bausch‘s Palermo Palermo by the Tanztheater Wuppertal, Jean-Claude Bellota‘s Ulysse, Dominique Bagouet‘s Désert d’amour and creations by Angelin Preljocaj, Sharon Eyal, Mathilde Monnier, Nadia Beugré, Dalila Belaza and many others are to be discovered and rediscovered.
