Jacques Offenbach, Emperor of French operetta is back to the country of his origin. From February 29, 2020, the Dresden Semperoper, one of the noblest German opera houses, will program a new production of the Grand Duchess of Gerolstein to be sung in the language of Goethe.
The superb Straussian soprano Anne Schwanewilms performs as the Duchess. Josef E. Köpplinger, current director of the Gärtnerplatztheater in Münich directs.
