It was to be expected. After the announcement of the end of all performances for the entire 2020-2021 season, the MET Orchestra in New York cancelled its European tour in June and July 2021. Yannick Nézet-Séguin was supposed to conduct the great orchestra at the Philharmonie with a much-anticipated Berlioz concert, performed by Joyce DiDonato.
Lovers of the flamboyant mezzo may rest assured that Joyce will be in recital in Paris on 24 January 2021 with a programme entitled Songplay, a vibrant patchwork of melodies and Songs not to be missed.
