]]> Currently on tour, Cecilia Bartoli cannot stop mourning her lost love as she embodies Orpheus in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice. She will perform the role on two last upcoming dates: at the Philharmonie de Paris on Thursday, November 28, 2024, and at the Tonhalle in Zurich on November 30. This season, the great mezzo-soprano, is making fewer stage appearances as she dedicates herself to her roles as Artistic Director of the Salzburg Easter Festival and the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, where she will appear as Sesto in Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito in January 2025. However, la Bartoli hasn’t forgotten her charitable commitments. She will give a special performance at a benefit concert for the International Opera Studio in Zurich on June 15, 2025.

]]> Having sung the role on stage many times, the extraordinary Cecilia Bartoli is back on tour in the guise of the Egyptian queen Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Handel‘s masterpiece. The Orchestre Les Musiciens du Prince – Monaco conducted by the loyal Gianluca Capuano is at the helm, with a cast chosen to surround the superstar Bartoli (Carlo Vistoli as Julius Caesar, Sara Mingardo, Max Emanuel Cenčič, José Coca Loza and the hilarious Kangmin Justin Kim as Sextus).
The troupe will be hosted by Luxembourg before the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris (23 & 25 October 2023), the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels (27), the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (30) and finally the Kölner Philharmonie (1 November) before further dates in 2024.

]]> Italian director Damiano Michieletto is a very busy man especially this autumn.

On 18 October 2022, Handel’s Alcina will be premiered at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. The title role will be performed by the diva Cecilia Bartoli, who has already performed in Salzburg in 2019.
On 28 October, Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier conducted by Alain Altinoglu (with Sally Matthews, Michèle Losier, Elena Sancho-Pereg and Matthew Rose alternating with Julia Kleiter, Julie Boulianne, Ilse Eerens and Martin Winkler) will be performed at La Monnaie-De Munt in Brussels.
Finally, a new production of Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict will open the season at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, also on 28 October 2022.
