]]> The Radio France Montpellier Occitanie Festival, to be held from 8 to 20 July 2024, has just announced a very fine programme, with one astonishing piece of information. On 9 July, François-Xavier Roth, at the helm of the Les Siècles orchestra, will conduct a world premiere of a previously unpublished work by Maurice Ravel. We thought we knew everything about the composer of the famous Boléro, yet a manuscript of an unpublished work had gone unnoticed for years. The Chanson galante for small orchestra and four-part mixed choir will be heard for the very first time at the Corum/Opéra Berlioz.

]]> Opening on 14 November 2023, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées is preparing to welcome one of the flagship productions of its season, Mozart‘s Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), directed by Cédric Klapisch (the well-known film director) and conducted by the great François-Xavier Roth. The prestigious cast (Regula Mühlemann, Cyrille Dubois, Jean Teitgen, Marc Mauillon, etc.) has just lost a feather, as Florian Sempey, who was due to perform as Papageno, has had to withdraw. Like a phoenix, baritone Florent Karrer replaces.

]]> Aix-en-Provence, the beautiful city of culture, will be in the spotlights in 2023. In July, the International Festival international d’art lyrique will celebrate its 75th summer, but before that, from 31 March to 16 April 2023, the 10-year anniversary edition of the Easter Festival will take place.

Dominique Bluzet and Renaud Capuçon, respectively Executive Director and Artistic Director, have invited the crème de la crème for the occasion (Martha Argerich, Igor Levit, Iván Fischer, René Jacobs, Fabio Luisi, François-Xavier Roth, Daniele Gatti, Klaus Mäkelä…) and are planning special events such as concerts with all the musicians revealed by Generation @ Aix since 2013.
