]]> Khatia Buniatishvili is not only a great pianist but also one of the few classical musicians widely known to the general public. Without breaking the codes of classical music even in her glamourous dress, her intelligently crafted recitals convey passion and evoke deep emotions for those fortunate enough to attend.

The downside of such stardom is that securing tickets can be challenging if not planned well in advance. As she performs in Toulouse at the Halle aux Grains on March 18, 2025, with a program featuring Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, and Mozart, the concert is already nearly sold out.

However, fans still have the opportunity to attend her recital at the legendary Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on May 25, 2025. With a playful program including works by Satie, Chopin, Bach, Schubert, F. Couperin, and Liszt, tickets are still available—for now!

]]> A return to her roots for the voluptuous soprano Sonya Yoncheva, who reunites with William Christie after participating in one of the early editions of Le Jardin des Voix, the academy for young singers by Les Arts Florissants. On November 1, 2024, at the Philharmonie de Paris, November 5 at La Halle aux Grains in Toulouse, and November 7 in Compiègne, the artist, accompanied by Les Arts Florissants conducted by William Christie, will perform arias by Mozart, Gluck, Sacchini, Cherubini, Piccinni, Chardin, and Martini. This head-spinning program revives the beloved works of Queen Marie-Antoinette’s repertoire.

]]> Mourad Merzouki is a choreographer who is always full of surprises. A prominent figure in the hip-hop movement of the 90s, he has since established his style with an eclecticism that constantly drives him to seek inspiration in all disciplines, including sports. The French artistic swimming team secured fourth place at the Paris Olympics thanks to a highly acclaimed free program choreographed by Mourad Merzouki himself. Following this impressive performance, the artist is teaming up with Julien Chauvin and Le Concert de la Loge once again for a tour of Vivaldi‘s The Four Seasons set to dance, which will take his troupe, the Compagnie Käfig, to Germany, Bordeaux, Rouen, and, for instance, to the Halle aux Grains in Toulouse on December 16, 2024.

]]> 2024 is a year rich in celebrations, with a number of important anniversaries. Puccini, who died 100 years ago, cannot overshadow another major figure in classical music, Gabriel Fauré. He died the same year as the Italian opera composer, and was born in Pamiers in the Ariège region, 70km from Toulouse. Of course, the pink city should pay tribute to him with a concert event. On 28 March 2024, at the Halle aux Grains, the prestigious Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse conducted by Ariane Matiakh will perform the suite from Pelléas et Mélisande and five orchestrated melodies, performed by Florie Valiquette and Julien Behr. The celebrations don’t stop there, however, as another composer is being honoured. César Franck, whose 200th birthday is being celebrated in 2022, will also be on the programme, with a work that was rediscovered some fifty years ago. Thanks to the work of the Palazzetto Bru Zane, the concert’s partner, the orchestra and the Orfeón Donostiarra choir will perform The Seven Words of Christ on the Cross, a work fitting for the Easter celebrations.

]]> Tugan Sokhiev, the great Russian conductor who worked successfully at the helm of the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse for 14 years, returns to the pink city but this time to conduct the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for an exceptional concert as part of the excellent Les Grands Interprètes serie. Prokofiev‘s suites from Romeo and Juliet are on the programme for the concert on Monday 26 February 2024, at the Halle aux Grains, along with Dvořák‘s famous concerto performed by the seductive cellist Kian Soltani. Booking is now open, and given the conductor’s great popularity in Toulouse, you’d better not delay in getting a seat!
