]]> She was the sensation of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games! Perched atop the Grand Palais in her sublime blue-white-and-red dress, Axelle Saint-Cirel stunned the world with a vibrant rendition of La Marseillaise.

The winner of the 2023 edition of the Voix des Outre-Mer competition is returning to her roots. She will be present on Thursday 5 September 2024, at the Ile-de-France final for overseas candidates based in mainland France (at the headquarters of the Ile-de-France Region in Saint-Ouen).

Under the impetus of the Les Contres-courants association (founded by Fabrice di Falco and Julien Leleu), the competition, which is open to all French overseas residents, aims to detect, train, promote and professionalise talent from overseas France, while providing them with educational and professional integration support.

The final of the 7th edition will be held on 8 January 2025 at the Opéra Bastille.

]]> As it enters its 7th year, the Voix des Outre-mer competition is breaking new ground with a new award. The Christiane Eda Pierre prize will be awarded to the candidate from a friendly French overseas country. All you have to do to enter is live in a French-speaking country or speak French. The winner will sing in the final at the Opéra Bastille in front of the Voix des Outre-mer jury. He or she will take part in the Filao Festival. The next one is to be held in Saint-Pierre de la Martinique from 3 to 15 December 2024.

]]> At the end of an amazing show at the Opéra Comique on 8 October 2023, the winners of the Voix Nouvelles 2023 competition were announced, crowning the favourite artist as predicted. Following in the footsteps of some big names such as Natalie Dessay, Karine Deshayes and Stéphane Degout, Lauranne Oliva, the talented 22-year-old soprano, takes first prize after winning the Paris Opera Competition three weeks ago. Leo Vermot-Desroches, Juliette Mey, Héloïse Poulet, Lotte Verstaen and Emy Gazeilles took 2nd to 6th place. Last but not least, the competition’s youngest competitor, 20-year-old Livia Louis-Joseph-Dogué, won the People’s Choice Award by a landslide. The very first candidate to be discovered by the Voix des Outre-mer competition also captured the hearts of the public.

]]> With the splendid fifth edition just completed, the Voix des Outre-mer competition is already inviting French talent to take part in the sixth edition. Registration is open until 15 May 2023. This lyrical competition is open to all talents from the French Overseas Territories, whether or not they have training, who are interested in discovering, working on and perfecting their voice. Finals organised in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, French Guiana, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Wallis and Futuna, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Mayotte and in France will select the winners who will compete at the Opéra National de Paris on 23 February 2024 to win the sixth Prix Voix des Outre-mer and the Prix jeune talent 2024.
