The Cercle de l’Harmonie stays in Aix-en-Provence

In keeping with its desire to involve an orchestra in its programming, the Grand Théâtre de Provence is welcoming the Cercle de l’Harmonie and its conductor Jérémie Rhorer to take up residence in Aix-en-Provence. A number of projects have been developed, including immersion courses in the orchestra, backstage tours, discoveries of the different professions involved in live performance and the life of an orchestra, meetings with senior citizens or children, etc. and, of course, two major concerts. On 18 November 2023, Jérémie Rhorer invites Marc & Emmanuel, the Coppey fathers and sons, to perform Brahms’s Double Concerto for Violin and Cello. On 14 February 2024, with the superb mezzo Marina Viotti, he offers a very appropriate programme with ‘Amor furor’, Love and betrayal in a farandole of opera arias by Mozart, Gluck, Mendelssohn, Saint-Saëns, Massenet, Bizet, Berlioz and Donizetti for Valentine‘s Day!
