It’s a huge surprise. As venues are heading towards an upcoming reopening, the Metropolitan Opera has just announced the cancellation of the start of its 2020-2021 season.

The Covid is obviously the cause in a city that has one of the largest numbers of cases in the world. The Met will open on December 31, 2020 with a special gala evening.
