The New York Philharmonic’s new season is launched

Two major events open the new season of the New York Philharmonic.

On September 18–21, 2019, Music Director Jaap van Zweden conducts the wolrd premiere of Philip Glass’s King Lear Ouverture, commissioned by the NY Phil. And on September 26–28, 2019, van Zweden conducts the US Stage Premiere of director, set and lighting designer Bengt Gomér’s production of Schoenberg’s Erwartung and Bartók’s Bluebeard’s starring Johannes Martin Kränzle, Katarina Karnéus and the supertsar Nina Stemme as Judith.
