Like all theatres in Italy, the great Teatro Regio in Turin remained closed during the pandemic, but unlike the other opera houses in Italy, it has still not reopened. The theatre took advantage of this period to renovate its entire stage area. The inauguration of the new season will take place on 12 February 2022 with Puccini’s La bohème in the production by Paolo Gavazzeni and Piero Maranghi originally scheduled for 2020.
