The Philharmonie de Paris, like all Western concert halls, has cancelled the visit of the pro-Putin Russian conductor Valery Gergiev. A prestigious replacement has been found for the performances on 16 and 17 May 2022 with Daniele Gatti who will conduct the Münchner Philharmoniker. A few programme changes have been made, including the cancellation of Thierry Escaich’s violin concerto, which was to have been performed by Renaud Capuçon. Instead, he will perfom Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1.
