Three stars for the Paris Opera !

And three! The ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris has just acquired a third star by naming Guillaume Diop as étoile after a performance of Giselle in Seoul on Saturday 11 March 2023. This distinction follows shortly after those of Hannah O’Neill and Marc Moreau during the performance of Balanchine at the Palais Garnier. The talented dancer Guillaume Diop, until then a “sujet”, has happily skipped the ” premier danseur ” category. At only 23, he has already made headlines by taking on the role of étoile when he was only a quadrille. Despite his impressive qualities, posterity will probably remember his name because he is the first danseur étoile from the diversity since the troupe was founded in 1661. Guillaume Diop will be featured in the Maurice Béjart show at the Opéra Bastille from 21 April 2023.
