A new film festival in Cannes

The Cannes Dance Festival is offering the first edition of MOV’IN Cannes, its dance film competition. For its twenty-fourth edition, the event is breaking new ground while forging a natural link with cinema, an art form that is in the DNA of the city of Cannes. Seven professional judges from the two artistic fields, including Edilia Gäns, director of FEDORA, Tanin Torabi, Iranian choreographer and director, Jarmi Penttila, former Chaillot programming advisor, and Mathilda May, author, director and actress, president of the jury, will award a MOV’IN Cannes Grand Prize, a Ministry of Culture Prize, a Student Prize and the Audience Prize to the winners at a ceremony to be held on Thursday 30 November at the Cineum in Cannes-La Bocca. Of the 110 films received, 18 are in competition, half of which have been selected by partner institutions and festivals, and the other half by a panel of students from the PACA region.
