The great artist Paavo Järvi has more than one string to his bow, conducting prestigious orchestras around the world every season. Conductor of the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich since 2020, he maintains a special relationship with his other orchestra, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, of which he has been Artistic Director since 2004. Following the success of his recordings of the Haydn symphonies, Järvi embarks on a European tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his collaboration with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, with the London symphonies to be performed in Bremen (December 1, 2 & 3), Cologne (December 4), the Wiener Konzerthaus (December 5 & 6), the National Concert Hall Dublin (December 7) and the Hamburg Philharmonie (December 10). Gustavo Dudamel on the Paris-New York

The popular Gustavo Dudamel, current music director of the Paris National Opéra, has just been officially appointed to lead the New York Philharmonic where he is expected in 2025-26 to start his first real season 2026-27. He will be the first Hispanic principal conductor since the orchestra was founded in 1842. The Venezuelan conductor who made his name with El Sistema will leave the Los Angeles Philharmonic after 17 years with this other renowned American orchestra.

Renowned conductor Nathalie Stutzmann leads the prestigious New York Philharmonic from 22 to 24 February 2023 at the Wu Tsai Theater, David Geffen Hall in New York, in a Wagner, Prokofiev and Dvorák programme with Alisa Weilerstein.

Since Marin Alsop‘s departure from Baltimore, Nathalie Stutzmann, who has just been appointed to lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, is the only woman conductor to lead a major US orchestra.

Europe in Paris at the Champs-Elysées

In June 2022, lucky Parisians don’t have to go far because the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées is hosting three great European orchestras. On 2 June, the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden opens the ball with Christian Thielemann and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9. The following day, András Schiff plays and conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment from the piano, and on 11 June 2023, the exceptional Wiener Philharmoniker closes the series with the great conductor Andris Nelsons in a most exiting Gubaidulina/Chostakovich/Dvorák programme.
