On February 8 and 9, 2019 at the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra opens his season with a gala concert conducted by David Robertson who will be leaving the orchestra at the end of 2019. A flamboyant program with Strauss’s Zarathustra and the rare Concerto for oboe Spirit of the Wild by Australian composer Nigel Westlake is performed.
