Gustavo Dudamel on the Paris-New York

The popular Gustavo Dudamel, current music director of the Paris National Opéra, has just been officially appointed to lead the New York Philharmonic where he is expected in 2025-26 to start his first real season 2026-27. He will be the first Hispanic principal conductor since the orchestra was founded in 1842. The Venezuelan conductor who made his name with El Sistema will leave the Los Angeles Philharmonic after 17 years with this other renowned American orchestra.
