Jonathan Nott rubs shoulders with angels and a saint

Conductor Jonathan Nott, currently the brilliant musical director of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (whose contract has been extended until 2026), will soon be starring in a new production at Geneva’s Grand Théâtre. From 11 to 18 April 2024, Olivier Messiaen’s colossal masterpiece Saint François d’Assise will be staged by the Franco-Algerian visual artist Adel Abdessemed, who is also responsible for the set design, costumes and video. He will be making his operatic debut with English baritone Robin Adams as Saint François and Canadian soprano Claire de Sévigné in the role of the Angel.
