A World Premiere is always a special event for an Opera House and particularly when this Opera House is the Wiener Staatsoper. On December 8 is premiered Johannes Maria Staud’s Die Weiden (The Willows) by German lyricist Durs Grünbein. The world premier is conducted by Ingo Metzmacher and staged by Andrea Moses.
At the Wiener Staatsoper from 10 November, ballet director Manuel Legris presents is own choreography of Léo Delibes’ ballet masterpiece Sylvia for the Wiener Staatsballett. A total of ten performances, is scheduled until January 2019.
