From 24 November to 10 December 2023, the city of Cannes will be hosting the Festival de Danse Cannes, under the artistic direction of Didier Deschamps, on the theme of the impulses and beauty of the world. With twenty-seven companies invited, three world premieres will be presented (Thierry Malandain, Amala Dianor and Antoine Le Menestrel) as well as three French premieres by Carte Blanche, Norway’s national contemporary dance company, which highlights the culture of its indigenous people. There will also be works by choreographers Damien Jalet, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar and Noé Soulier (for the emblematic Trisha Brown dance company), as well as meetings, discussions and reflections by choreographers, dancers, researchers and teachers on the theme of “Danses sans frontières! Last but not least, this year’s event will focus on young people, with exchanges between five national dance schools.
