Two of our greatest sopranos, Jodie Devos and Sabine Devieilhe, will be on stage in the same role in September 2022, each in her native country.
At the Opéra Royal de Wallonie Liège from 20 September to 1 October 2022, Jodie Devos will have Philippe Talbot and Lionel Lhote as her partners, while Sabine Devieilhe will be joined by Frédéric Antoun and Stéphane Degout from 28 September to 8 October 2022 at the Opéra Comique. Laurent Pelly in Paris and Davide Garattini Raimondi in Liège will direct.
Fans of bun snapping will be disappointed, as there will be no long-distance rivalry between the two superb artists, with performances almost sold out in Liège as in Paris.
